Witch hunt and political force sent Mr George Aggudey to jail- CPP The Convention People’s Party (CPP) has registered its displeasure at the current imprisonment of the former Flagbearer of the party, Mr George Aggudey, stating that the accused was hounded by witch hunt and political forces. A statement signed by the director of communication of the party, Nii Armah Akomfrah revealed that Mr Aggudey has for many years complained about a witch hunt and targeting of his business, blaming certain political forces of being behind it. The statement further charged party members in good standing to seek good and appropriate advice to ensure that they regulate their affairs in such a way as not to fall foul of the law. Kenya's William Ruto trial: 'Church victim' testifies at ICC The first prosecution witness is giving evidence at Kenyan Deputy President William Ruto's trial at the International Criminal Court (ICC). Mr Ruto has been charged with crimes against humanity, following allegations that he orchestrated violence after disputed elections in 2007. Police launches investigation into Russian Chief Justice accident.   The Ghana Police force have indicated that the accident involving the Russian Chief Justice, Vyacheslav Mikhailovich Lebedev would be investigated to bring perpetrator to face the law. The Police launched the investigation following the Monday’s accident that involved the Russian Chief Justice Mr Frank Davies, the President of the Greater Accra Branch of the Ghana Bar Association (GBA), was dismayed at barefaced disregard of traffic regulation by the tipper truck driver, who hit entourage of Justice Lebedev. He said “More so, it happened near a police barrier, very, very, very embarrassing” if the Russian Chief Justice had died”. Justice Lebedev had addressed the Annual Bar Conference in the Volts Region capital of Ho and was returning to Accra, where he was scheduled to meet President John Dramani Mahama and Speaker of Parliament Edward Doe Adjaho.
