NPP is “inconsistent” – Amaliba A member of the legal team of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Abraham Amaliba has described the New Patriotic Party’s decision to seek the help of the Electoral commission (EC) in the national delegates’ conference in Tamale as hypocrisy According to him the NPP after attempt to discrediting the EC in an alleged vote rigging in the 2012 general election has no moral right to invite the commission to supervise their election, saying “the NPP discredited and they tried to as it were, lower the reputation of the EC in the eyes of Ghanaians.” He said this clearly indicated that the NPP is “inconsistent” in that when it suits them, the EC can come and supervise their elections but when it doesn’t suit them, they say the EC lacks credibility.”

Barcelona to make Messi highest-paid player Barcelona plan to make Lionel Messi the world’s highest-paid player ahead of this summer’s World Cup in Brazil. Barcelona President Josep Maria Bartomeu made this known just two days after Messi's hat-trick defeated Real Madrid and put Barca back in the title race.   'We all want Messi to be the best-paid player in the world and that is what we are working on,' said Bartomeu. 'Right now we are concentrating on the competitions we are in but it will happen soon. 'Nobody here wants to sell Messi. You cannot sell Leo. He arrived here when he was 13 and he is one of ours.'   The deal, expected to be discussed before the April 16 Spanish Cup final, will add another year to the player’s commitment taking him to 2019 and will take him beyond Cristiano Ronaldo’s estimated €21million (£17.5m) net deal. The agency said air pollution is the cause of about one in eight deaths and has now become the single biggest environmental health risk. "We all have to breathe, which makes pollution very hard to avoid," said Frank Kelly, director of the environmental research group at King's College London, who was not part of the WHO report. One of the main risks of pollution is that tiny particles can get deep into the lungs, causing irritation. Scientists also suspect air pollution may be to blame for inflammation in the heart, leading to chronic problems or a heart attack. WHO estimated that there were about 4.3 million deaths in 2012 caused by indoor air pollution, mostly people cooking i...
