Old Fadama on fire

Old Fadama on fire

Old Fadama, a slum community in Accra is on fire. Currently Part of the community has being destroyed by the fire.

The fire which started about an hour ago could not be put out due to inaccessibility to the place. Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service have not been able to gain access to the area under fire.

The intensity of the fire has destroyed many of the structures in the area.

The immediate cause of the fire is unknown but some local narrated that the lights were out but they only got to know that the lights had been switched on and as a result, they heard that fire was popping through their homes.

They implied that the possible cause of the fire could be as a result of the connection between the power outage and the power that was turned on subsequently

The some of the inhabitants are therefore making efforts to put out the fire as most of them are relying on their buckets of water, throwing sachet water into the flames.

The fire service personnel are making their best possible to circumvent the structures to enter the area under fire.
No casualties have been reported.
