The A.M. E Zion basic school at Ho in the Volta Region has witnessed a bizarre situation as Prophet exhumed spiritual items from one of the classrooms on Friday to redeem pupils and teachers of failures in examination, finance and marriages.

The items exhumed included female thunder stone/bolt (flat and round stone with hole at the center), pieces of red and black calico, a wood carving in the form of a human being, piece of chalk, quantity of cowries and others.

The prophet also exhumed two sheets of papers with the inscription “some teachers will die and the performance of the pupil shall see more disgracing circumstances”

According to one of the teachers (name withheld), he has been experiencing spiritual and demonic attacks in his dreams alluding that to his financial and marital failure.

He narrated that the attack has been extended to the academic performance of the pupils since great efforts put in the academic excellence of pupils have amounted to failure and disgrace in the final examination.

A revelation in one of the deliverance programmes in the school revealed that both Pupils and Teachers were spiritually attacked. The attack was manifested in this year’s BECE result when the most brilliant pupil had aggregate 27. Prior to this revelation, poor academic performance has left both pupil and teachers frustrated.

The Prophet, Dela Mensah of the Eagle Strength Ministry (Accra) said God has now put the school in a new pedestal which will open the floodgate for better performance in subsequent examinations.

According to the Prophet, the items will be burnt and the ashes be thrown into a public latrine.

He however, declined to mention the faces behind this barbaric exercise and the reasons.

The pupils, some teachers, eyewitnesses and parents of the A.M.E Zion in Ho-Dome made merry over the spiritual exercise. They shared white calicos among themselves to declare victory over the evil spirit.

Meanwhile, other critics have raised concern as to why leaders of the A.M.E church could not do anything about the spiritual attack.

These phenomenons of poor performance in examination over the years have propelled parents to withdraw their wards from the school.

It was an exciting moment to see school children ran to share the joy we came with and the everlasting smile on their faces during our Shelter for Education #Homecoming trip. It threw me back to my primary school days at Nsakina in the Ga West District in 1999, I was in class one. We lacked a lot of basic learning materials which included desks and tables. We had to bring our own tables and chairs to school. The perseverance led some of us through, while others dropped out because the setting and the structures was not attractive to studies enough. You come to school and you virtually had to write on the floor. The fortunate ones had writing board. The whole experience was challenging. It casts my mind back to when finally the government decided to release desks to us. The day the desks arrived, we went home late while others stayed on and wrote their names on the desks to identify it the next day.
